As a college preparatory school, APS has designed and offers a number of courses and curricular activities that accommodates the needs of students in different subject areas to improve their learning capabilities. The social studies department provides opportunities for self-initiated and teacher directed activities with these example: class discussion, formal and informal debates, role-playing, theatrical representations, scavenger hunts both on school grounds or at historical sites such as Old San Juan and field trips.
