Digital Learning Center School Sisters of Notre Dame

The Digital Learning Center (DLC-SSND) is directly linked to the Information and Media Services Department of APS to attend all academic curriculum areas by reinforcing and supporting them through informational resources and professional librarians. Besides offering a great amount of printed and digital resources, this department coordinates different activities with teachers to strengthen library, research, information and critical thinking skills. These skills are necessary in order for the students to be successful citizens in the society of the 21st century. We believe in developing a love for reading and that printed or/and digital books are necessary to develop critical readers. The DLC-SSND has excellent technological resources to support this curriculum, such as interactive whiteboards, computers, and study and conference rooms equipped with multimedia and high speed Internet access. We are subscribed to databases (EBSCO/Grolier) so that students are able to access trusted and reliable information. We also have an automated electronic catalogue system that students can access, via the Internet, all resources available in the DLC-SSND. Besides the daily activities with the different departments, we also have a Library Week and Book Fair annually.
